The reform is to be carried out in the Statistics Department of Georgia, upon financial assistance by UN.

The respective issues were discussed at the meeting of Ekaterine Sharashidze, Minister for Economic Development, and Grigol Phantsulia, Head of Statistics Department, with Herman Haberman, US expert.

Other experts are to arrive in Georgia and prepare the concept for the reform of the department within two months.

Our intention is to turn the statistics department into the independent organization, which would be capable to make reliable economic forecasts, Ekaterine Sharashidze said.
