The law on drugs will change in Georgia. The presentation of a new draft-bill was held at the Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel earlier today with participation of experts and authors.

The relatively flexible legislative base is being worked out jointly by the Georgian Healthcare Ministry and Parliamentary Healthcare Committee. The project is being implemented with the financial support of Global Fund.

The authors of the draft-bill hope that enforcement of the law will terminate increase of drug addicts. The law will be presumably enacted in 2009.
