European Union has allocated 5 million EUR grant for the support of the primary health care reform in Georgia. The presentation of the project which must be implemented with the EU support was held in the Tbilisi Courtyard Marriot today.

The project aims at developing primary health care practise in Kvemo Kartli, Samegrelo, Imereti, Adjara, Shida Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti Regions.

Minister of Health and Social Affairs, Aleksandre Kvitashvili announced at the presentation today that the project will facilitate improvement of home medical service providing and availability of the poject in the targeted regions.

The project was launched on 1 February 2008 and will last for three years. It is being implemented by the Georgian Health and Social Project Imeplementation Center.
