The deadline for submission of financial expenditures by various political parties participating in the May 21 parliamentary elections to the Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC) expires at 6 PM today.

As the CEC reported, only those parties, which managed to overcome the 5% election barrier in May 21 parliamentary elections, should submit their financial reports. According to the CEC, a financial report has been presented only by the National Movement for the time being. Its expenses during election campaign amounts to GEL 12 million 900 thousand GEL.

As to other parties, which couldn’t manage to overcome the 5% election barrier in parliamentary elections are given one-month term for the submission of financial reports according to the Election Code of Georgia.

In case if those election entities, which crossed the 5% threshold in parliamentary elections, are not able to present their financial reports within set terms, according to the Election Code, will not be allowed to enter the parliament or participate in the next parliamentary elections.
