Veterans will benefit from free municipal transport as of today as part of a new initiative of the Tbilisi City Hall.

Vice-Mayor of Tbilisi Mamuka Akhvlediani personally handed over plastic cards to veterans for free travel on municipal transport.

From May 12, along with World War II veterans, participants of wars for territorial integrity of Georgia held in Abkhazia, as well as participants of the Soviet war in Afghanistan will also benefit from free municipal transport.

According to the latest data, approximately 26 thousand veterans are residing in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi.
