Spirit and Whimsy - The Art of Niko Chocheli is exhibited at Antiochian Heritage Museum from April 16, 2010 through February 20, 2011

Niko Chocheli is one of the foremost artists to emerge from the Republic of Georgia. An acclaimed iconographer, illustrator, and award-winning artist, Chocheli draws upon the artistic traditions of both East and West, as well as his Orthodox Christian heritage, creating colorful and expressive paintings which have been shown throughout the world and which are held in many prestigious collections.

Chocheli's art captures the eye with its whimsical imagery and vivid color, while capturing the soul with its depth of meaning, ultimately appealing to viewers of all ages. During the past ten years, his illustrations have graced the pages of seven children's books.

Spirit and Whimsey marks the first comprehensive exhibit of Chocheli's work, including original illustrations from each of his books.
