The festival will take place on 2-8 May 2008, in Kutaisi and Akhaltsikhe, and will feature the Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra directed by Vaxtang Kakhidze, and the academic company of folk song and dance “Rustavi”. The Kote Marjanishvili theatre house will show a play called “Qaquca Cholokashvili”, directed by Levan Tsuladze. The profit of the festival will be donated to local culture centers. In future, the festival hopes to take its performers nation-wide, improving regional cultural facilities as it goes. The program was designed and directed by Vakhtang Kakhidze, who commented that “the plays which will be performed will be worthy of every district of Georgia”. The price of the tickets will be defined by the local theatre managers. It is likely that tickets will sell for around GEL 3 - 5. Festival organizer and director Vakhtang Kakhidze said, “Besides this festival, one of the purposes of our foundation is to nurture new talents and promote their success. We want to discover gifted performers in the regions of Georgia and help them to develop their talents. Thanks to “Magti, the festival will be held this year, too. I hope our partnership will continue in future, as without their promotion it would be impossible to realize this project. Unfortunately, such kinds of festivals are rare, due to various problems. But they are necessary for Georgia. I want to express gratitude to “Magti” for supporting our festival”.
